Nine Mobile is a mobile marketing software platform and offers mobile marketing campaign management tools and services to advertising agencies and content publishers. Our software and data center are in San Diego California. Our systems are connected to all major carriers. Clients rent time on the system to deliver their message campaigns. Text SMS is the primary method. MMS pictures and video are also supported. Unless otherwise stated Nine Mobile does not charge any fees to a customer directly when using the 85800 shortcode. This shortcode is used for information and alerts and is supported by the brand marketers. There are standard messaging fees that apply from the customers carriers that are not related to our service. We do not currently operate a premium billing program on the 85800.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE AND PROGRAMS
These Terms of Service apply to the Customer experience. This is the mobile cell phone user who is Texting inbound a Call To Action keyword to the shortcode of 85800 or is receiving an information alert broadcast from the 85800 shortcode. Nine Mobile is the CDN Content Delivery Network that is providing the software and service to deliver the messages between brand marketers and customers.

If you have received a message or sent an SMS message to 85800 then you are Opted-in to a mobile alert or information service that is operating on the NineMobile.com network. When you send a specific keyword to 85800, you will recieve a message response from the brand marketer / content provider that is related to the specific program and information requested from our system. If the program that you have selected has a periodic information alerts or updates, then you may be receiving occasional broadcast messages from the brand marketer / content publisher in relation to the program.

EXAMPLE:

Call to Action is posted on a billboard that says... "Text the keyword INFO to 85800, to get the latest news and special offers from XYZ sponsor"

Response: is delivered back to the customer cell phone... "From INFO. Thnx for texting. Here is a special alert for you. Go to www.brandinfo.com and see the new product. To Cancel txt STOP.

Nine Mobile does not send information that was not requested by a customer first. We follow the guidelines of the Mobile Marketing Association and the Wireless Cell Phone Carriers. We deliver our service to all major US carriers including Verizon, Att, T-Mobile, Boost, Sprint, AllTell, Cricket, Virgin, US Cellular.

Nine Mobile is happy to remove a customer from any mobile messaging list related to any program, any brand marketer, and any content publisher, at any time. Mobile Video Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Why is this service not available on my particular phone model?
    Some phones (that have low processing power and memory) are unable to load and run our application. This is the main reason it may not be available. Also, we are constantly developing the application for new phones on a regular basis. If you don't see it listed, it may just be in the works!
  2. What is video for my mobile phone?
    Streaming video, audio and other multimedia content to your multimedia-enabled handset.
  3. Do I sign up for video services through Nine Mobile or my wireless service provider?
    You can sign up for video services directly through Nine Mobile. Details are included on this site.
  4. Will video services be included in my monthly bill for my cell phone?
    Yes, services are included as line items in your monthly bill.
  5. Why are video services not available on my phone model?
    Video services are available on compatible phones with the appropriate data service plan. Please contact your service provider for more details.
  6. What type of content will I receive?
    If you text a specific "keyword" of the title of the particular type of content that you wish to receive, then you will get the exact video clip, audio clip, or picture that you seek within 60 seconds.
  7. How often are the video clips updated?
    New Videos are updated on the site and posted to the library at least once a week. We constantly provide new content for our members.

Text Alerts Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What is the price for Nine Mobile services?
    Nine does not charge customers to recieve SMS or alerts. There are no individual and subscription service fees for video streaming or mobile web connections. However, normal text messaging rates or carrier fees may apply. Check with your carrier for details on your plan.
  2. Are there any additional carrier charges associated with the service?
    Message rates differ from carrier to carrier. Standard message rates apply to all text messages. Please contact your wireless phone service provider to inquire about the details of your plan.
  3. How many messages can I get each day?
    There is no limit on how many times you can request a media content alert or information. Your carrier may impose message or charge limitations on your account that are outside the control of Nine Mobile.
  4. Are there any areas that cannot get Nine Mobile?
    The service is limited to the United States and active subscribers of select carriers and is limited to coverage areas of participating carriers.

  6. Glossary

    3G (Third-Generation)
    A term used to describe up-and-coming technology to provide wireless users with faster transmissions and the ability to roam globally.
    Alphanumeric
    Information composed of both letters ("alphas") and numbers ("numerics"). This term is most often used to describe the display capabilities of a wireless device.
    Backlit Display
    The light built into the display screen that illuminates the screen for better viewing in low-light environments. There are two types of backlighting: indiglo, which provides soft blue-colored, glow-in-the-dark like lighting, and standard, which provides ordinary white-colored lighting.
    BREW
    Qualcomm's technology that stands for Binary runtime for wireless environment. Allows applications to be downloaded directly to your BREW enabled device. (Games, ring tones, wallpaper, etc)
    Coverage Area
    The geographic area served by a wireless system.
    Data Transmission
    The transmission of data between computers or over a telecommunications network
    EDGE
    (Enhanced Data for GSM Evolution) A faster technology for GSM and TDMA networks that may offer transfer rates up to 384 Kbps
    FCC
    Federal Communications Commission. The US government agency regulating telecommunications; the FCC is also responsible for establishing rules, licensing or authorizing all wireless transmitters.
    GSM (Global System for Mobile communications)
    The digital wireless telecommunications standard used throughout Europe and Asia and in select areas of the U.S.
    J2ME
    Sun Microsystem's technology that stands for Java 2 Platform, Micro Edition. Allows applications to be downloaded directly to your Java enabled device. (Games, ring tones, wallpaper, etc)
    Landline
    Refers to traditional cable and wire line phone systems or services.
    LBS
    Location Based Services - enables services to be offered to a user based on the user's current location.
    MIN (Mobile Identification Number)
    Refers to the unique number assigned to all wireless units, i.e. your phone number, used to identify the unit within a wireless carrier's network.
    MMS
    Similar to SMS, but in addition to plain text, MMS messages may include multimedia elements such as pictures, video and audio. These multimedia elements are included in the message, not as attachments as with email.
    Multimedia
    In the context of mobile communications, a service that may combine voice, data, graphics and video information.
    PCS (Personal Communications Services)
    A newer type of wireless communications service that relies on digital technology at 1900 MHz for the transmission and reception of digital voice signals, data, and messages.
    PDA
    Personal Digital Assistant. Can be Windows CE devices or Palm OS. They were originally designed as personal organizers, but became much more versatile over the years. A basic PDA usually includes a clock, date book, address book, task list, memo pad and a simple calculator. One major advantage of using PDAs is their ability to synchronize data with desktop, notebook and desknote computers.
    Send Key
    A button found on a wireless phone's keypad that initiates a call after the number has been dialed.
    Service Plan
    A contract between a wireless carrier and a wireless subscriber that details the terms of the wireless service including rates for activation, access and per minute usage.
    SMS
    SMS (Short Message Service) allows users to send plain text messages. This is ideal when verbal communication is not possible due to noise regulation or lack thereof (in meetings, concerts, etc.) The point of strength is the simplicity of use.
    Subscriber
    A cellular phone user.
    Talk Time
    The time a phone is on and actively transmitting or receiving a call.
    TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access)
    The wireless technology that improves on analog by allowing up to 3 conversations to share a channel. It involves sending digital voice information over radio frequencies in timed intervals so that, when coordinated correctly, frequencies do not intersect and cause interference.
    WAP
    Wireless Application Protocol, a set of standards to enable wireless devices to access data services.
    Wireless Carrier
    A company that provides wireless telecommunications services.
    WML
    Wireless Markup Language - similar to the HTML, WML is designed for small and portable devices
